Timing that decides sports cases

2 months' salaryUnder RSTP Article 14bis, a club being at least two monthly salaries behind on their due dates is the trigger point for a player's just-cause termination route (verify against the current RSTP edition).

15 days~~The written notice period a club is generally given to settle overdue salaries under RSTP Article 14bis before the player may terminate with just cause and claim the residual contract value.~~

21 days~~Default time to file a statement of appeal at CAS under CAS Code R49, running from receipt of the decision challenged (the FIFA Statutes also use 21 days); CAS cannot extend it.~~

What to put together before you speak to a lawyer

Sports files are won or lost on documents and dates. Whether you are signing, chasing money or facing a charge, these are the things worth having in order — and the sooner they are gathered, the more can be done with them.

The binding Turkish text of your contract, together with any English summary or translation you were given, so the two can be compared.
Any side letters, messages or written notes recording promises made outside the contract — bonuses, housing, flights, vehicle or tax arrangements.
A complete payment record: what was paid, when, in which currency, and which salaries or bonuses remain outstanding on their due dates.
The exact date you were notified of any decision or charge — federation and CAS appeal windows run from notification of the decision, not from when you read it.
For agents: the representation agreement itself plus the deal timeline, since validity, exclusivity and formal requirements often decide a commission claim.
Your immigration papers — work permit status and federation registration — so it can be checked that the sporting and immigration sides line up.
For clubs: governing documents, board decisions and signing authorities, plus any correspondence about overdue payables or financial-control monitoring.

Protects personality and image rights, the basis for stopping unauthorised or out-of-scope use of an athlete's name, likeness and image and for claiming compensation.
