90 days~~Typical visa-exempt or short-stay limit in any 180-day period (nationality-dependent) — beyond this you need a residence permit~~

Before you file: what to put in order

Whichever permit you are applying for, these are the practical items to get in order before you go anywhere near the e-ikamet form. Most refused and delayed files fail on one of them.

Check your passport is valid well beyond the permit period you are asking for, and have copies of the photo page and your entry stamp or visa.
Have biometric photographs taken within the last six months, on a white background.
Obtain a Turkish tax number (vergi numarası) — you will need it for the bank account, the fees, a notarised lease and any property purchase.
Complete your address registration (adres kayıt), and check that the neighbourhood is not closed to new foreigner registration under the 20% cap before you sign a lease or buy.
Arrange health insurance covering the entire requested permit period, and check the policy matches your name, passport number and permit dates exactly.
Get foreign civil-status documents (marriage, birth, criminal record) apostilled — or consular-legalised for non-apostille countries — and sworn-translated into Turkish before you travel.
If you are applying on the property ground, confirm the title value against the regulated threshold (currently around USD 200,000) and obtain the SPK-licensed valuation report dated after purchase.

The framework for every residence permit category in Türkiye, applied by the Directorate General of Migration Management, including the eight-year route to a long-term permit and the deportation and appeal provisions.

International Labour Force Law · art. 12

Governs work permits, issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and provides that a valid work permit is deemed a residence permit.
