5 years~~A registered trademark not put to genuine use within five years can be challenged and revoked for non-use (Industrial Property Law No. 6769).~~

10 years~~Trademark protection runs 10 years from the filing date, renewable indefinitely in further 10-year periods (Law No. 6769; TÜRKPATENT registration).~~

What to get in order

Before a first conversation about your Turkish IP, it helps to have the following gathered. Most of it is material you already hold — the point is to see, in one place, what you own and where it is exposed.

A list of the brands, products, inventions, designs and creative works whose value you want protected in Türkiye, and which of them you already use in the market
Any existing registrations or applications — in Türkiye and abroad — including filing dates, since an earlier foreign filing may support a priority claim
The goods and services you actually sell, so the Nice classes match your real activity rather than a guess, and evidence that the marks are in genuine use
Written assignments for works created by employees and contractors, which is where ownership most often turns out to be missing
Existing licences, franchise and technology-transfer agreements, and whether they were recorded against the registration
For any suspected infringement: samples, listings, photographs, invoices and dates, since a preliminary injunction application stands or falls on evidence
A power of attorney plan if you are abroad — notarised and apostilled and translated, or signed at a Turkish consulate

Covers copyright and related rights in literary, artistic, musical, audiovisual and software works, which are protected automatically on creation.
