Turkish Inheritance Calculator: Statutory Shares & Legal Assessment

Answer six questions about the estate and the family to calculate statutory inheritance shares, surviving spouse rights, and critical calendar deadlines under the Turkish Civil Code.

What this does, and what it deliberately does not

You describe the estate and the family. The page then applies the succession rules of the Turkish Civil Code to what you entered and shows who inherits, in what fraction, with the article each number comes from — the surviving spouse under Article 499, the children and their representation under Article 495, the parents’ branch under Article 496, and the reserved shares under Article 506 where there is a will. Dates are built from the day you say you learned of the death, because that is when the three-month window in Article 606 starts running, not the date of death itself.

It stops where honesty requires. The grandparents’ branch is answered at branch level rather than per person, because Article 497 moves a predeceased grandparent’s share between the two sides in ways we would rather check than guess. And three things sit outside any form: the matrimonial property claim a surviving spouse may have before the estate is divided at all, lifetime gifts that can be pulled back, and whether a will is valid. Each of those can change the answer, so the result says so plainly instead of hiding it in small print.

What you enter is not transmitted. The whole calculation runs inside your browser and the summary only travels if you copy it yourself. We do record one thing, anonymously: how far readers get through the questions — the step reached and nothing else, never a name, a date, a number of children or a share. The other tools on this site send their answers back to us; this one does not, because the questions here ask who died and who survives.
